Mission

The Swiss National Platform for Natural Hazards PLANAT is an extra-parliamentary commission that provides consultancy services to the Federal Council. The 18 members of the commission represent the interests of various actors in the field of natural hazards. The PLANAT secretariat is affiliated to the Federal Office for the Environment.

PLANAT works on a strategic level on prevention, on raising awareness of a long-term shift in handling natural danger-paradigms, and on exchanging knowledge and experience on a national as well as on an international level.

The organization has no registered commitments.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.'|t }}
